AGSA is a nonprofit organization that supports multiple leagues of fastpitch softball in the Ames area for girls ages 4 and up at various skill levels. Our recreational league is aimed at player development for girls age 4-18 of all skill levels and experience, while our traveling tournament team is focused on a more competitive play for advanced players at the 8 & Under, 10 & Under, 12 & Under, and 14 & Under age divisions. Visit the "AGSA Team Info" section of our site to learn more about our leagues.

The safety of our players, coaches, officials, and fans is of utmost importance to use and we are monitoring the situation carefully. We will continue to monitor updates and recommendations from Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Public Health and will base future decisions on these guidelines. As you know, this environment is fluid and can change at a moment's notice. We will do our best to keep you up to date regarding the status of our programs.
At this time, we have made the decision to cancel Spring League. We will attempt to schedule weekend tournaments and a Summer League if possible. We are working on issuing refunds for those who have registered. Please note that your refund will be less the nominal 4% credit card processing fee, which cannot be refunded as those expenses are incurred through the credit card companies and our registration vendor. You may also elect to carry forward your registration fee as a credit for a future tournament or Fall League.
The status of our Recreational League is still pending at this time. We are monitoring the situation and are hoping to begin practices the week of May 4 with games beginning the week of May 18.
Please feel free to reach out to the Board with any questions or concerns. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times.
Registration is now closed! Thank you to everyone who signed up!
We are currently in the process of forming rosters and lining up coaches for the upcoming season! We hope to have this complete soon. You will hear from your coach once teams are finalized.
Please note: practice dates & times are up to the discretion of the coach; we cannot guarantee that these will not conflict with other activities you may be participating in. Games for 1/2 Grade will typically be on Tuesdays & Thursdays; 3rd & 4th Grade games will typically be on Monday & Wednesday; 5th & 6th Grade games will typically be on Tuesday & Thursday. This is subject to change based on weather and field availability but will be the general rule for scheduling.

AGSA is funded primarily by player registrations and business sponsorships. If you or your business are interested in making a tax-deductible donation, contact the AGSA Sponsorship Committee. Varying levels of sponsorship are available. AGSA is a 501(c)3 charitable corporation, operated by a board of volunteers.
We are a nonprofit organization and are only passing along the costs we incur from tournament entry fees, rental fees, equipment fees and the cost of paying our coaches for winter clinics and travel league. Our expectation is to utilize parent volunteer coaches for the fall and spring. We will hire paid coaches for winter clinics and our summer season, but will still need parent volunteers to help with practice, keeping score, organizing team information, etc.
(Uniform fee is not included.)
12U and 14U will be capped at 11 players. 8U and 10U there will be NO cap. We will either create multiple teams or have players play specific weekends.
Scholarships are available. Scholarships will be awarded at the time of the second payment. A limited scholarship pool of dollars is available and will be divided equally amongst families that qualify.
