AGSA Softball Programs
The Ames Girls Softball Association (AGSA) provides several opportunities for girls to play and develop skill in the game of softball throughout the year. Regardless of where your player is in terms of interest and ability, we believe we have a program to suit her.

For each of these leagues, games are played on the weekends in a tournament style where each team plays two games (or more) per day. Teams may register to compete in 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U or High School aged (JV/VAR) team divisions. Registration is offered by team or individual. New AGSA teams will be formed for individuals who register if we have enough within a division to form a team. If not, refunds will be processed. Description: Players wanting to take their game to the highest levels play on our Ames Thunder Travel Teams. The expectation is that both the player and parents understand that a higher level of commitment is expected to play in the competitive Travel Team environment. We offer teams in 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U divisions which are formed through structured tryouts. A Travel Team typically consists of 10-12 players. We invite all interested players to tryout and will form multiple teams given enough players to do so. In such a case “A, B, or C” level teams will be formed and entered in proper class-level tournaments. Travel Teams operate under USSSA rules and age requirements in most cases but may operate with USA/ASA rules at times, depending on the rules of the respective tournaments.
